Lake District Activities in and near Keswick
Braithwaite is located in the Northern Lake District, 16 miles West of Penrith, 30 miles South of Carlisle and just 2 miles from Keswick. The village is situated close to the foot of the Skiddaw mountain range and at the western side of Baeenthwaite Lake. Whilst Braithwaite remains a relatively quiet viallge all the year around, the nearby town of Keswick attracts a wide range of visitors. With its variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries, a cinema, leisure centre, museum and well reputed theatre, there is much to see and do for those that like town life. And let’s not forget the stunning parks and the other nearby lake, Derwentwater, where you can hire rowing boats or take the launch.
The whole Northern Lake District is a haven for walkers and those that enjoy ‘the great outdoors’. There are many other activities in the area to choose from though, including cycling, water sports, fishing, bird watching and golf.
